Al-A'raf 7:88

۞ قَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ لَنُخْرِجَنَّكَ يَـٰشُعَيْبُ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَكَ مِن قَرْيَتِنَآ أَوْ لَتَعُودُنَّ فِى مِلَّتِنَا ۚ قَالَ أَوَلَوْ كُنَّا كَـٰرِهِينَ

Said the eminent ones who were arrogant among his people, "We will surely evict you, O Shuʿayb, and those who have believed with you from our city, or you must return to our religion." He said, "Even if we were unwilling?

هذا إخبار من الله تعالى عما واجهت به الكفار نبي الله شعيبا ومن معه من المؤمنين ، في توعدهم إياه ومن معه بالنفي من القرية ، أو الإكراه على الرجوع في ملتهم والدخول معهم فيما هم فيه . وهذا خطاب مع الرسول والمراد أتباعه الذين كانوا معه على الملة .وقوله : ( أولو كنا كارهين ) يقول : أو أنتم فاعلون ذلك ولو كنا كارهين ما تدعونا إليه ؟ فإنا إن رجعنا إلى ملتكم ودخلنا معكم فيما أنتم فيه ، فقد أعظمنا الفرية على الله في جعل الشركاء معه أندادا . وهذا تعبير منه عن أتباعه .
