وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّجْتَمِعُونَ
And it was said to the people, "Will you congregate.
ولهذا لما جاء السحرة ، وقد جمعوهم من أقاليم بلاد مصر ، وكانوا إذ ذاك أسحر الناس وأصنعهم وأشدهم تخييلا في ذلك ، وكان السحرة جمعا كثيرا ، وجما غفيرا ، قيل : كانوا اثني عشر ألفا . وقيل : خمسة عشر ألفا . وقيل : سبعة عشر ألفا وقيل : تسعة عشر ألفا . وقيل : بضعة وثلاثين ألفا . وقيل : ثمانين ألفا . وقيل غير ذلك ، والله أعلم بعدتهم .قال ابن إسحاق : وكان أمرهم راجعا إلى أربعة منهم وهم رؤساؤهم : وهم : سابور وعازور وحطحط ومصفى .واجتهد الناس في الاجتماع ذلك اليوم
